At Snaprix, your privacy is not an afterthought — it's a foundation. This policy explains clearly and honestly what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.
What We Collect
Account Data
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address (required for authentication)
- User ID (automatically generated unique identifier)
- Name and profile photo (if you sign in with Google)
Your Memories
The content you save is stored securely in your personal vault:
- Screenshots and photos
- Voice recordings and transcriptions
- Text notes and descriptions
- Files and documents (receipts, tickets, certificates, PDFs)
- Location data (GPS coordinates) — optional, only when you choose to tag a memory with location
- Calendar events (memory timestamps and dates)
- Tags and categories you create
Messages and Interactions
- Chat messages with AI ("Talk to Your Past" feature)
- Future letters you write to yourself
- Search queries within the app
Usage Data
- App actions (e.g., memories created, AI analyses requested, features used)
- Search history within the app
- Usage statistics (memory count, AI analysis count, subscription status)
Technical Data
- Device information (OS version, device model)
- Crash logs and diagnostics (for bug fixing)
- Performance metrics (app load times, error rates)
How We Use Your Data
- To store and organize your memories — Core app functionality
- To run AI analysis on content you explicitly submit
- To provide location-based features — Show memories on a map (optional)
- To enable search and chat — Find and interact with your past
- To send reminders and notifications you configure
- To improve app performance and fix bugs — Analytics and crash reporting
- To manage your subscription — Track usage limits (free vs. pro)
- To respond to support requests
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or third parties for marketing purposes.
AI Processing
When you save a memory with AI analysis enabled, the text content is sent to OpenAI's API for processing. This is done securely over encrypted connections. OpenAI's data handling is governed by their privacy policy.
OCR (Receipt Scanning): Text extraction from receipts uses Google ML Kit, which runs locally on your device. Receipt images are NOT sent to Google.
Data Security
All data is stored on Supabase infrastructure with:
- 256-bit AES encryption at rest
- TLS 1.3 encryption in transit
- Row-level security — only you can access your data
Your Rights
You have full control over your data:
- Export — Download all your data as JSON anytime (Profile → Export Data)
- Delete — Permanently delete your account and all associated data (Profile → Delete Account). This is immediate and irreversible.
- Access — Request a copy of your personal data by contacting us
- Manage — Delete individual memories, photos, or chat history without deleting your entire account
Users in the European Union (GDPR) and California (CCPA) have additional rights including the right to object to processing and the right to data portability.
Data Retention
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all data is permanently removed from our servers within 24 hours.
Data Sharing
We do NOT share your personal data with third parties.
The following services process data on our behalf (service providers, not third parties):
- Supabase — Database and authentication
- OpenAI — AI analysis (data sent for processing only, not stored by OpenAI)
- Google ML Kit — OCR processing (runs locally on device, no data sent to Google)
Children's Privacy
Snaprix is not designed for or directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Third-Party Services
Changes to This Policy
If we make significant changes to this policy, we will notify you through the app. Continued use of Snaprix after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
